Sometimes you just need a little bit of jangly sweet pop to get you over your midweek hump, and Peppina offers just that. The singer songwriter brings the slightest touch of country to her indie tunes often overlaid with aloha-style melodies and a voice that reminds us of the awesome Feist.

This past Thursday on a snowy night in Brooklyn, fans and musicians joined together to raise money for the residents of Flint, Michigan through The United Way of Genesee County. Highlights for the evening included an impassioned speech by Kris Gruen demanding the government do its “minimum” duty to provide clean water for its citizens. Helsinki native and talented young singer Peppina backed by a talented five piece band showcased her unique sound and upcoming tracks “Moments” and “Fire” for the adoring crowd.
Before picking up piano, guitar and ukulele, Helsinki-born indie-pop artist Peppina was a classically trained flutist. Listening to Regina Spektor, Feist, Stevie Wonder and David Bowie, Peppina found her influences. During high school she discovered hitRECord, founded by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who then invited Peppina to play in Los Angeles for hitRECord’s television special. Following the performance, Peppina released her EP Follow Your Gravity
